Les recherches arch\u00e9ologiques ont commenc\u00e9 sur le territoire de Jesolo d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but du si\u00e8cle dernier, dans la zone des Anciennes Murailles<\/strong>. C\u2019est l\u00e0 en effet que se trouvaient les ruines d\u2019\u00e9difices dat\u00e9s du moyen-\u00e2ge : la cath\u00e9drale de S. Maria Assunta et l\u2019\u00e9glise de S. Mauro. D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 60, la Ville de Jesolo promut certaines activit\u00e9s de fouille pour d\u00e9couvrir si ces ruines dissimulaient d\u2019autres vestiges et t\u00e9moignages du pass\u00e9. Mais seulement au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, de 2011 \u00e0 nos jours, la ville a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de lancer les recherches avec un projet arch\u00e9ologique de fouilles et de mise en valeur de toute la zone de l\u2019ancien habitat, en collaboration avec l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Ca\u2019 Foscari de Venise et la Surintendance Arch\u00e9ologique, des Beaux-arts et du Paysage pour la Ville de Venise et la Lagune.
